BAD MOUTHING

When a friend of mine cautioned me to be careful with my action in reprimanding any office staf or close associates she did say that 'people will badmouth you'. Direct translation of the cliche is using our mouth for something bad and uncalled for, yet in layman language it is more than that. It has become a habit to talk bad about people and reserve compliments to ownself. Literally this is called 'self defensive'

Self defensive is a disease of the society. People are less able to accept advice. Everybody think they are right and everyone else is at fault. This is a clear indication of irresponsibilty, at least to oneself. To be responsible is to willingly take ownership of our makings. People make mistakes because they do not know some informations, rarely people make mistakes for the fun of it.

Let me recall the incident at my MPP office come 1st July. The default regulations is triggered the moment MBSA's Councillors term of service ended. This autosystem has been embedded into the lower staffs' information system that everything stops short when the clock striked 12 midnight 1 July 2009.

There is no love lost between me and my PTO just in this one incident. The lesson learnt was that all PTOs need to be taught how to manage informations be it a directive or a gossip. If the information can trigger good deeds l must say all PTO need to complement not putting a barrier for its implementation. Then again 'good' in whose's value and perception. Here we need to concur that only one source of informationthat is true and truthful, that is from our Creator Allah that is available in AlQuran. To assess this we need lots of knowledge about what Allah need us to do. Just take one value that is to discuss issues, which is called syura. In syura there is a blessing even if we make wrong decisions.

l would urge all PTO that now serve MBSA councillors be a master of your boss, i.e you know his or her schedule. What one likes most or otherwise. Get your boss to see what was the previous way of doing things and and policies. It will be an unfortunate moment when without our knowledge we are badmouthing each other at the expense of lots of barakah that can be generated should we complement each other's strength and forgive all weaknesses.
